VAC1541 - Network Engineer

Purpose: To monitor and control the day to day network operations and maintenance activities associated with the relevant network platforms (NGN,MSAN,IP/MPLS,3G), ensuring availability of services at high standards,  and that KPIs, SLAs targets and business requirements are always met to  the optimum level of customer satisfaction. To act as a source of information and expertise to staff on the related technologies and platforms.

Responsibilities: Monitor and assess the efficiency of the daily performance of the relevant Network Platforms and services, and carry out corrective actions to maintain a high standard grade of service. Perform network operation and maintenance activities in accordance with the related laid down procedures and business requirements. Perform and implement service provisioning, configuration and testing according to service orders requests. Perform testing and commissioning of new services, features and equipment and assist with their introduction into the network. Analyze and rectify customer, service and platform related faults and problems in accordance with internal procedures. Analyze and Investigate service and platform failure/outages and make recommendations to avoid reoccurrence. Execute network migration and development plans to meet project targets and network upgrades. Assist the Professional Engineer in the design and presentation of the Network and customer solutions. Coordinate and/or implement planned outages and advice concerned parties and administrations as necessary. Write, review and update work instructions and procedures according to the company and ISO 9002 standards to improve operational efficiencies. Assist the Professional Engineer in representing the section in related projects and internal committees. Assist with the training and development of new staff and consolidators. Assist Network planning and development sections in dimensioning the network. Respond to callouts and attend shift duties as and when required. Implement service restoration plan as and when necessary or as directed.

Qualifications: BSC degree engineering or HND.

Skills: Strong technical knowledge on relevant system or platform. Good communication skill. Strong knowledge on telecommunications field. Excellent command of written and spoken English. Competent use of office software packages. Full knowledge of software applications used to manage the systems, equipment and services. Have the understanding of all NGN concept and Telecom knowledge (i.e Softswitch, IP, MSAN,3G). Ability to manage in a dynamic environment and work under pressure. Competent use of office software packages. Have the ability to support in the design network and customer Solutions Have the ability to present network & customer solutions Strong customer management. Excellent conflict management Have the strong ability to practice and promote Batelco's Danat values culture.

Experience: 2 years experience  in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications Engineering.
