Job Title : Oil & Gas Operator Department : Production Location : Interior Reports to : Production Supervisor To operate the total integrated Production system, ensuring that production and environmental targets are realized in a safe and efficient manner whilst maintaining operational integrity of the assets. Experience/Qualifications Needed - HND/ HNC / ONC / OND or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline and a minimum of 6 years field experience in Petrochemicals, Refinery, Oil and Gas plants.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the Oil/Gas Process & connected systems.
- A good knowledge of relevant E&P operations, procedures and practices.
- Self-motivated and is required to have leadership skills.
- Should be aware of HSE and process safety requirements.
- Fully computer literate, good communicator and organizer.
- Ability to perform as a team player.
- Principal Accountabilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and legislation pertaining to Process Instrument and Control Engineering.
- Experience in operating wellheads for Oil production, water supply& disposal, steam injection, etc.
- Training less experienced staff in production operations of Oil & Gas facilities
- Asset related:
- To Operate plant and fields within the Operating Design envelopes and to ensure minimum deferment of Oil and Gas at Minimal Flaring.
- Area Authority and Work Permit Validator within the boundary of responsibilities. Ensuring adherence to appropriate HSE procedures, take effective action to control emergencies and contain hazards within area of responsibility.
- Accountable for Monitoring all Variables on a continuous process plant operational whilst maintaining Asset Integrity.
- Business Processes related:
- Execute all production Operations activities according to schedule / plan.
- Ensure that all production assets are operated in a safe and efficient manner, in line with agreed plant operating philosophies, and with current Production Procedures and practices.
- Ensure First Line Maintenance on plant equipments are carried out according to the manufacturers recommendations and technical supports.
- Ensure Preparation for safe well, plant & Process shut-down ,and start up within allowed timing at minimum flaring with respect to the Plant Operating Modes.
- Daily reporting to production supervisor and field Programmers on daily Hydrocarbon accounting, activities and work progress.
- Co-ordinates Operation activities with the Control Room Operators
- Interfacing with Process Supports, Programmers, Infrastructure sections & Maintenance Services staff and Contractor staff during normal operations, breakdown & routine maintenance works.
- Discipline Activities:
- Maintain an up to date relevant station & field facilities data and readily available for use.
- Fill the daily log sheets for all equipment and systems as per schedule.
- Log all relevant data relating to the production of Hydrocarbons ( for entry into the Production Management System and Plant Integrity Management System).
- Interface with service department staff to coordinate breakdown/routine maintenance work in facilities and plants - to ensure minimum oil/gas deferment of production.
- Take effective action to control emergencies and contain hazards within area of responsibility and ensure co-ordination with Emergency control Centers.
- Provide guidance and Coaching of National Operation Staff to enhance their development.
- Area Authority and validator for Permit to Work activities within area of responsibility.
- HSE related:
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide the subordinate staff and contractors on safe working practices.
- Proactively manage all HSE aspects of Production activity execution and compliance with directorate HSE plan.
- Ensure healthy safeguarding systems for minimum production interruption
- Accountable for ensuring implementation and adherence to the requirements of the
HSE Management System. - Ensure HSE and PTW systems are followed before starting a job, ensure proper use of tools and PPE , conduct regular site visits, advice co-workers on potential hazards, check safety equipment, notify management of unsafe working conditions, report HSE incidents, actively participate in HSE meetings and tool box talks.
- Process safety related:
- Ensure that Critical Tasks related to Asset Integrity-Process Safety Management (AI-PSM), as defined in the Procedural Manual, are undertaken and executed.
- Apply AI-PSM principles in all activities.
- Act at all times in accordance with the PDO Statement of Policy on AI-PSM.
- Identify and comply with AI-PSM responsibilities as documented in the AI-PSM System.
- Other accountabilities:
- Be a member of the Duty Rota.
- Maintain a positive image and actively promote and participate in social activities.
- As member of the of the Asset team fulfil all given tasks which are in line with the overall requirements of the Asset team.
- Focus on enabling the project to meet it's Business objectives and bring improvement in maintainability and operability ofr the Plant.
- Safe operation of a an integrated complex Plant ie; Oil /Gas, water treatment & steam with High H2S, High temperature & Pressure at Various plant operating Modes in order to meet EOR Objectives on miscible Injection, maximize daily production and improve plant up-time.
- Compliance with Monthly Integrated Production Planning Forecast , Well testing, Sampling, QMI, Integrity Management and HSE requirements.
- Liaison with multi discipline staff in Production, Maintenance, Sub-surface , Process , Integrity, Contractors and Vendors, Emergency response .
- Adherences to the Design Plant operating Modes and Plant isolation philosophy.
- Fast response to the Plant and Field Emergency control and communication to relevant sections such as emergency control center and as per Emergency and Response Procedure.
