The main responsibility of the Cashier is to ensure a smooth, efficient, honest and accurate paying service for the customer.
Key Accountabilities:
Following all reasonable instructions as requested by the management
Being aware of all in-store promotions, such as credit facilities, activities etc.
Keeping all company information, including sales figures, strictly confidential
Being constantly aware of customers and their needs
Having an excellent and up to date knowledge of all products
Welcoming and greeting each customer as they arrive at the cash desks
Ensuring customers pay the correct price for each and every item
Processing all sales according to strictly implement cashier policies for cash, credit card, credit account, cheque (after approval) and debit card according to the Cash Desk Manual
Balancing payments at the end of each shift
Maintaining a correct float in order to have change available
Assisting the customer with packing when necessary
Ensuring a steady supply of cash desks supplies such as till rolls, credit / debit slips and paper so as not to inconvenience the customer
Always thanking the customer for shopping and say goodbye
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
Two years previous retail cashier experience
Written and spoken English
Good people skills
Computer literate
Spoken Arabic, desireable
