| Scope of Work | Ensure that the Utilities and Water Injection Plants are operated efficiently, safely and economically in accordance with approved programmes and instructions.Take necessary measures to deal with planned and unforeseen fluctuations and keep the production personnel concerned, and other departments, informed of changes, and obtain permission for making changes, as necessary.Propose for review modifications to enhance utilization and safety of the installation.Approve and issue work permits for 'hot' and 'cold' work, prepare equipment for maintenance or repair work and after work is completed to review maintenance work and test equipment and prepare it for operation.Ensure a high level of safety throughout the plants, react to emergency situations when they occur and take action in line with standing instructions. Is in charge of the first action for the fire fighting until transfer to higher authority.Instruct operators in isolating and ensuring that plant and equipment are free of gas and safe or repair, maintenance, overhaul, or modifications.Coordinate and supervise the movement of freight for production by sea or air between central complex and other locations in conjunction with Traffic Supervisor.Ensure that accurate records are kept of consumables used in the utilities and issues requisitions for new materials to ensure stocks are available.Keep a log book of occurrences, plant conditions, instructions and work to be carried out, and check the log books kept by the Senior Operators.Ensure that the plants work at maximum efficiency and that the operations are maintained without interruption, with power and water injection targets are met.Ensure that routine tests of emergency and safety equipment are carried out, and these equipments are available for use.Prepare for review detailed procedures to be followed in for non-routine circumstances.Plan schedules for daily/weekly and monthly programmes of work and supervise Operators and Senior Operators to achieve objectives.Identify training needs of his subordinates, initiate training activities for them, and may participate in such training.Be ultimately responsible for good housekeeping within his plant.Monitors and controls all activities within his area of responsibility are conforming to "HSE Standards and Guidelines" set by the company.Guide and develop U.A.E. National Developees to achieve their target position set by hierarchy. |
| Minimum Requirements | Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years) plus advanced vocational qualification.8 to 10 years production or refinery experience in the petroleum industry including water treatment, and 3 years in a supervisory position.or : B. Sc. degree in Petroleum/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. |
